Find us
The Club is a short walk from Oxford City centre with safe walking routes available. It is close to surrounding University colleges and buildings, including the Science Area (5 minute walk) and the Radcliffe Old Quarter (15 minutes). There are secure cycle racks located at the front of the building for visitor use.
The Club is excellently connected to local, national, and university bus networks:
- High Street / Queen’s Lane (10-minute walk): Connects to city buses, local Oxfordshire routes, the Oxford Tube (24/7 coach service to London), and direct airport transfers to Heathrow and Gatwick.
- Gloucester Green Bus Station (20-minute walk): Oxford's main coach terminal for wider national travel.
- Science Transit Shuttle (ST1 & ST2): Stops are located just a short walk away in the Science Area, providing direct commuter links to Harwell Campus, Wytham, and the John Radcliffe (JR) Hospital for staff and researchers.
- Oxford Sightseeing: There are a few tour bus stops within walking distance to the Club for city visitors, from St Cross Road, South Parks Road and High Street.
For live timetables, routes, and maps, please check the Oxford Bus Company and Stagecoach websites.
Oxford Railway Station is approximately a 20-minute walk or a short taxi ride from the Club. Direct services provide easy access to several major cities, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Southampton, and Bath.
Please note that the University Club does not have dedicated visitor parking. If you are travelling by car, here are the best parking options and local regulations to be aware of:
Short-Stay & Disabled Parking (Mansfield Road): There are designated disabled parking bays and pay-and-display spaces directly outside the Club. Most of these are limited to a maximum of 3 hours.
Longer-Term Parking (Norham Gardens): For longer stays, on-street parking is available along Norham Gardens, which is just a short, scenic walk to the Club across the University Parks.
Gloucester Green Car Park (15-minute walk): This is the nearest multi-storey city-centre car park. Please note that this site is entirely cashless – you can pay by card at the machine or via the RingGo app (which allows you to extend your parking session remotely). Check the Gloucester Green Car Park website for pricing.
Oxford Zero Emission Zone (ZEZ): Central Oxford operates a Zero Emission Zone. We highly recommend checking the Oxford ZEZ map before you travel to see if your route takes you through the chargeable area, and to check rates or register your vehicle.
